Carl and I have been married for over 25 years, and children have always been a part of our lives.  First it was daycare children, then we did foster care, and in 1992 we were blessed with our first son Matthew.  Andrew was our second blessing in 1996.  We knew we wanted more children, and adopting from China was always a dream of mine.  In 2010 we travelled to China to bring home our next blessing, our daughter Natalie.  Right from the start, I knew I needed to go back.  I still had more children waiting for me in China!   Well it took a bit of time, but this past spring Carl and I were sitting in the kitchen and I told him our house was going to be awfully quiet soon.  Matt was getting ready to enter his second year at the University of Central Florida, and Andrew would be a junior in high school.  I knew we only had a short time left before he started talking about leaving.  Sure enough, he has been counting down the days until he can join the Navy.  This would leave Natalie, Carl and I in a 6 bedroom house.  It would be awfully quiet!

So in the spring, Carl agreed that it was the right time to bring another child home.  It wasn't an easy decision.  Most of our friends are counting down the days until their children are gone and they can have more freedom.  Somehow, that made me sad, I am not ready to be an empty nester, and there are way too many orphans in this world.  We needed to help at least one more.

So we are on this journey again.  You would think the second time around would be easier, but two years later equals more paperwork that has been added, more $$ and more waiting.  With Natalie we found her pretty fast.  This time we don't have a child yet.  We are waiting for our agency to find a child in the right age group from a list of 1500 that comes out every month.  We don't know how long it will take to get matched, but we hope to travel the end of April when Matt finishes his semester.  We are hoping to take all three of the kids with us again.  It is a lifelong experience, and we want them to be a part of it.

So, we hope you follow along as we prepare for our newest blessing.

Fondly,
Kim, Carl, Matt, Andrew, and Natalie Reichenbach
